Gesture Markup Language

The Gesture Markup Language is the world’s first markup language for multitouch gesture-based interactions.  This extensible language not only shapes how applications are developed but it allows developers to explore new interaction paradigms and user experiences.

Gestureworks Flash comes complete with an open gesture library that includes definitions for scores of pre-built gestures and unlimited possibilities for new custom gestures and gesture sequences. The open gesture library consists of full XML descriptions of over 300 gestures using our open Gesture Markup Language (GML). To learn more about Gesture Markup Language see the GestureML Wiki.

AS3 Gesture Library

Sixteen gesture types are presented using a series of ActionScript functions that directly tie into the open GML Library and the native display object transformation framework.

The library of ActionScript 3 helper functions gives developers tools to accelerate development and actively demonstrate methods of best practice for integrating GML deltas into event handlers. Also provided are a series of detailed tutorials that show how to directly use gesture deltas for display object manipulation or use the built-in managed transforms that are part of the native manipulation framework.
